Description
For years Mark fought to reform the TUSD board’s unusual committee-led agenda process, which almost certainly led to violations of the Open Meeting Law. The 2012 board fixed the problem by a 3-2 vote, but the current board recreated it in 2013 by reinstituting the old policy.
Finally in 2016 the board’s legal counsel agreed with Mark that the agenda committee should be eliminated, and the board complied by a 4-1 vote. (This was one of the very few votes where the current majority has not voted together; Juarez voted against the change.)
